Christopher Graves Pleads Guilty to Child Rape and Molestation
Graves faces a minimum sentence of 10 years up to life imprisonment at sentencing to be held in June
On March 21, 2023 in Pierce County Superior Court, Christopher Ryan Graves pled guilty to one count of rape of a child in the first degree and one count of child molestation in the first degree.
35-year-old Christopher Ryan Graves was initially arrested on September 1st, 2022 by the Puyallup Police Department and charged with three counts each of rape of a child in the first degree, child molestation in the first degree, and possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in the second degree.
As part of an agreement with the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, the rest of the charges were dismissed while deputy prosecutor Adam Roberts made the following recommendations to judge TaTeasha Davis: 120 months to life incarceration, lifetime community custody, lifetime registration as a sex offender, and no contact with the victim or minors.
Judge Davis was clear that she is under no obligation to accept the recommended sentence submitted by the prosecutors. Both charges Graves pled guilty to carry a maximum of a life sentence and fine of $50,000.
Christopher Graves said the following in his own words in a statement:
Between 1/1/2013 and 3/9/2020, I engaged in sexual intercourse with [VICTIM], who was under the age of 12 and more than 24 months younger than me, and to whom I have never been married. During that same date range, I also had sexual contact with [VICTIM], with her being more than 36 months younger than me.
Judge Davis set a hearing for sentencing to occur on June 2nd, 2023.
